Norfolk Concessionary Bus Travel

Changes to the concessionary travel consultation following the transfer of responsibility for administering the English National Concessionary Travel Scheme from District councils to the County Council from 1 April, below are changes that will be made from this date.

The Council has received funding for concessionary travel of only £7.228M against estimated costs of around £9.435M. The following discretionary enhancements will be withdrawn:

There are also changes to the application process and following feedback received in the consultation an online application has been introduced and some customers have already taken advantage of this new facility. Online applications may be made via http://www.norfolk.gov.uk/Travel_and_transport/Public_transport_and_community_transport/Buses/NCC088013. Customers will also be able to apply by post and application forms will be widely available from late March.

Existing passholders will be able to use their existing passes until the expiry date shown on the pass. We intend to contact holders of companion passes to advise them that from 1 April their companion will have to pay the normal bus fare.
